Frequently Asked Questions
First aid can be taught in a fun and engaging way by combining practical simulations, outdoor scenarios, and team challenges. At Savage Wilderness, first aid training is often integrated into adventure experiences where participants practise real-life rescue simulations during rafting team building or outdoor Kenya adventure programmes. Interactive drills, role-playing injuries, and time-based rescue challenges make learning both memorable and effective.
Generally, first aid training includes three main levels:
Basic First Aid
Intermediate First Aid
Advanced / Wilderness First Aid
Savage Wilderness offers practical, outdoor-based first aid training suited for adventure tourism, corporate groups, and schools.
Standard first aid training typically lasts 1–3 days depending on the depth of content. Wilderness or advanced courses, especially those connected to adventure team-building activities, may take longer due to hands-on outdoor practical sessions.
The main purpose of first aid is to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and promote recovery. In high-energy Kenya adventure activities such as whitewater rafting, first aid knowledge ensures safety and rapid response.
